Bearing installation and removal

time:2023-06-01   pv:1

Rolling bearings are highly standardized, serialized, and generalized precision parts. Correct installation and disassembly are an important part of ensuring good working performance and prolonging the service life of the bearings. Therefore, adequate preparations should be made before installing or removing the bearing.

Bearing installation.

Preparations before installation.

Requirements of the workplace: the installation of bearings should be carried out in a dry and clean environment, and should be kept away from the environment that can generate dust or other impurities.

Check the necessary documents: consult the product manual, check the bearing code, accuracy and clearance level, etc.

Cleaning of bearing installation parts: If the bearing has been contaminated (such as damaged packaging, etc.), it should also be cleaned and dried before installation. Bearings taken out of the original packaging must also be cleaned and dried if there is a thicker layer of hot-dip coating on the surface to prevent rust damage.

Note: Bearings that have been greased, and bearings with oil seals or dust covers on both sides, do not need to be cleaned before installation.

Bearing disassembly

The disassembly of the bearing should be carried out in a bright, dry and clean environment, and the necessary disassembly tools and equipment should be prepared according to the type of the bearing.

If the bearing is to be used again after disassembly, it is absolutely not allowed to apply disassembly force through the rolling elements, otherwise the rolling elements and raceways will be crushed.

For non-separable bearings, first remove the looser fitting ring from the housing, then use a press to press the bearing out of the tight fitting surface.
